Challenging 120 km in two stages
The start is in Nyborg on Friday 2 September. Crossing the starting line, participants row and paddle out Nyborg fjord and head south along the coast of Funen. The next waypoint is island of Thuroe, after which the route enters the narrow and scenic Sound of Svendborg, where there can be either current or countercurrent, which can be strong in the meandering sound. Once out of the Sound participants continues towards the island Skaroe, where they all camp for the night at the cabin of Svendborg Rowing Club on the island. The first stage is 55 km.
The participants must bring their own sleeping bags, sleeping pads and small tents or whatever they chose to bring for the outdoors overnight stay on Skaroe. A good evening meal and breakfast, soft drinks, milk, tea, and coffee will be served to all on the Skaroe Camp by VEGVISIR.
Stage 2 begins early next morning. The SUPs, kayaks and boats continues east over the very shallow waters south of island Taasinge before they set the course north between the islands Taasinge and Langeland. Then a little west towards the checkpoint at Valdemar Castle on island Taasinge before the direct course is again set north towards the Great Belt and the finish line in Nyborg. On the second day the distance is 65 km.
Back in Nyborg, everyone is waiting for a cool VEGVISIR FINISHER t-shirt as well as a well-deserved party and dining on Saturday night (included in price) and Nyborg has arranged a music concert and beer at the harbor.

Pitstop - Get close to the participants
On stage 1, pit stops are planned at Lundeborg Harbor and at Svendborg Rowing Club, while there are pit stops on the 2nd stage at Valdemar Castle and Lundeborg Harbor. The pit stops are for the participants to stretch their backs and legs, go to the toilet, fill the water bottles, and get some energy inside. And the pitstops are also just as obvious an opportunity for spectators as well as friends and families to follow the participants up close.
